It's Sea Worthy!

I disected a vole in my anatomy class. But I don't think that's what this song is refering to. It sounds very asian-pirate themed.
It's pretty good, and it has a neat narrative. I can see where your going with it, and it's good. You should write more of it!!!! I doesn't quite sounds complete; like your building up to something, but you just don't quite get there. Try experimenting with some different sounds.

Thank you for your improvement suggestions - I really appreciate it! :)
I always had problems in finishing musical compositions... :D
If you know any good resources which could help (books, weblinks), let me know ^^

Cool voice

Great voice and excellent recording skills! You should really try writing your own songs. :)

Jakspeed responds:

Thanks a lot partner. I have a couple of my originals on here, nothing great, but take a listen to Lose This Fight and tell me what you think.

ugggggg :/

It's a good idea, but try using different instruments. The 8-bit FQ really turned me off from this tune. Also, try to figure out where your trying to go with this. It seems really random and directionless.
Maybe, it you change the instruments, you can get some more narrative ideas to build it up and make it more dynamic.

vtv201 responds:

thank you for the feedback :} and i will change the 8 bit tones tomorow when i can and i will try and change the sctructure a bit, thankyoooou!!!!! :}

3/5

You can keep the classical piano in the begining, just make sure the transition to the synths is smoother. Also, at some point, try dropping the FQ of the synths and bringing the piano back. I'd be curious to hear how that sounds. Great effects! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the review!
I will keep that in mind when I rework on this piece! :3

AWwwwwwww!!!

Very beautiful and cute piano piece. It's building up to something though. This would sound really good with a violin solo too, but it's just perfect on it's own. Very nice narrative.

skychase responds:

Thanks auro, in the full version i'll try adding more instruments. :)

Loved it!! :)

it's very simple sounding, but the effects really make it really cool. It's very abstract and it flows nicely. Awesome job!

Bobox responds:

Thank U :)

Really cool!!

I loved the transition at 2:20ish. This song was really nice to listen to, and I loved how you melded the synths together. Excellent job with all your transitions. :) At 3:30 you should add in a solo synth to signify a climax. I think that would be a good place for it.

also, watch out for all the distortion. You can have some instruments that have distortion, but make some of the synths cleaner to balance it out.

:)

lvidmar responds:

Thanks for the review and vote! I will have to play around with this solo synth thing. Good idea!

Sweet idea!!!

It's a pretty good idea, but you don't really expand on it much. Yeah, the chorus sounds cool, and I need to get my hands on whatever bell synth that was, but the main part of the song is lacking some harmony. You have a basic melody and some drums, which is fine, but you can still add so much more. Try putting the chorus and bells and the string/drums together, and then work based on that. Change the tones to create both harmony and melody lines, while the bells and drums give it rythm.

You have really cool sounds, you just need to combine them. :)

Halcyon13 responds:

Thanks you kindly! I haven't thought about expanding this but I think I might try it out. Like the description says, it was one of the first things I made that I turned into an intro to another song. Thanks for the tips, I never really thought about adding a harmony to the song. Originally the bell was going through the whole track and was fairly loud, but that got messed up. Anyways, The bell sound was FM Bell if you use FL Studio, I hope it brings you great happiness.

WEIRDNESS

Not sure if the drums matched with the main rift at first. This piece was very diverse, and weird, to say the least. But it seems like you put a lot of thought into it. The transitions are very gentle and flowing, yet the changes are interesting enough that you keep listening. Good job overall.

SaturnAscends responds:

Thank you. It's tough juggling a polymeter and forcing it to sound strictly in 4/4 without making it sound a bit off. I may have been able to do better. The weirdness was definitely on purpose. An attempt to throw off listeners. x]
And I made sure I didn't linger too long on one section before changing something up. Thank you, I'm glad you viewed this piece favorably.

I am an amateur musician and I have been composing music for a year and a half. I hope to beome a professional musician and plan on studying piano performance in college. I hope you like what I have hear to show you. Wish me luck in college!
